NDIS Therapy

Space Whale provides creative arts therapy / counselling for self and plan managed NDIS participants

Creative arts therapy integrates counselling with creative processes — visual art, movement, clay, sound, storytelling, and other embodied ways of expressing.

It's an evidence-based therapy support that helps you build and maintain skills and independence while honouring all the ways you communicate and make meaning — not just through words.

This multimodal approach provides sensory, emotional, and cognitive regulation, and is particularly effective for neurodivergent people.

How a creative arts therapy session works.

Lit guides you to express yourself using things like: painting, drawing, clay, writing, movement, sound, storytelling, puppetry, print making and more.

You'll have the opportunity to explore the things that matter to you and to choose the ways you express yourself.

You don't need any experience as an artist, and you won't be judged on your art making.

Lit creates a safe space for you to explore different art modalities, and guides you to creatively represent feelings, emotions, relationships and ways of being.

A creative arts therapy session may assist you to explore and develop:

  • Self-expression through making art

  • Creativity for self-awareness and problem solving

  • Mindfulness and self-care practices

  • Communication skills for relating to others

  • Expressing needs and boundaries

  • Strategies and skills for dealing with stress, anxiety, physical and mental health challenges

  • Working towards personal and life goals

Art therapy can also be fun and playful.
